I graduated in 1993 from “Mihai Eminescu” High School in Iași, Specialization Philology -History. In the
same year, I became a student at the Faculty of Law within ”Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University Iași and I
graduated in 1997.
As soon as I completed my academic studies, I took the exam at the Law Bar of Vaslui and became the intern
of the famous solicitor Apostol Vasile who was the dean of that law bar at that time. Moreover, I took the
exam and became a preparatory teacher, and subsequently a university assistant at the Faculty of Law of
”Petre Andrei” University Iași, at
the Economic Law Department.
In the first six years of my profession, I was called by my maiden name - Geantău Gianina-Vera, a name under
which I promoted my professional activity. Furthermore, my scientific articles were published in the
national specialty journals under the name of
Geantău Gianina-Vera.
In 1998, I completed my internship as a solicitor at the Law Association ”Solicitor Sava Florin and
Solicitor Sava Alexandru” in Iași where my mentor solicitor was Professor Sava Florin PhD.
During the same year, as a result of an individual dispensation received for special merits from my mentor, I had the opportunity to take the final professional certification exam, which I passed with very good results, and I established my own law firm where I still work currently. In the beginning, I worked as a solicitor of S.C. Nena S.A. where I was part of the legal office of the well-known group of companies.
In the same period, I was in charge of the juridical activity to supervise the procedures to reconstruct and
remake the Mansion from Popești that belonged to the princely family of Sturdza.
The accumulated experience enabled me to get engaged in various cases of organized crime, drug trafficking,
very violent offences, even complicated corruption cases about national funds and European funds, as well as
other cases often discussed by the local and national press.
As a sollicitor in the highly publicized case of Corduneanu gang, I had the occasion, together with the case
professionals such as sollicitors, prosecutors and judges, to create a school-case, and later on, in the
coming years, there were exams to get this profession according to the practice of this case.
Following several lawsuits that were in the attention of the media, I had interventions and speeches in the
international media, next to the involved personalities, about the issue of integrating the Romani (two
statements on Radio France International) and numerous interviews or points of view taken by specialty
magazines and by the national press.
In 2012, I appeared in “Encyclopedia of Romanian personalities, a biographical encyclopedia of contemporary
men and women with a successful career in Romania” (Hübners Who is Who) – 7th Edition.
I always had and I still have interns who do their training in my law firm, some of them want to be
magistrates or well-known solicitors.
I have always been deeply grateful to the ones who were my mentors when I started being a sollicitor:
professor Sava Florin and professor Vonica Romul Petru PhD, the former chairman of District Court Iasi, a
former senator, a former judge at the Romanian
Constitutional Court and a solicitor at the Law Bar Iasi, personalities with whom I have worked as a
solicitor and as a university assistant.
I have been active in the Association EuroDomus-Iași that has been operating in Romania since 1995, a membre
of Agora attached to the European Parliament, an association that deals with the violation of the human
rights and with the trafficking of human
beings, an association where I was the manager of the Department for the Defence of the Human Rights.
I currently work in my own law firm and I am permanently preoccupied to improve my professional training by
participating to conferences, symposia and specialty reunions.
The basic specializations are criminal law and insurance law, but I also have collaborators in the field of
the civil law, labour law and trade law. In 2014, I got the Master's Degree in Financial Management, with
the dissertation ”Issues and opportunities for making an International Financial System”.
Apart from my professional activity, I got involved in 2012-2013 in the Romanian Association of the United
Women (www.uwa.ro), whose membre I am. I also took part to events of charity and social help, in
collaboration with foundations and associations in
European countries, events that were presented in the local media as important humanitarian actions.
Together with the well-known doctor Tudor Ciuhodaru, currently a deputy and a promoter of the law related to
“malpractice”, I appeared in the written press and on the local TV channels in Iași, Bârlad and Roman.
In 2017, I accepted to be the sollicitor of Clămparu Ioan about whom the president of Romania in that
period, Traian Băsescu, declared, in an unprecedented situation in public: ”he is the most dangerous
offender in Europe” and I managed from a juridical point of view all his lawsuits against the Romanian
Penitentiary System, lawsuits that are currently pending at the European Court of the Human Rights. After
this wave of claims made for the convicts' rights in penitentiaries, a riot occurred in the Romanian
penitentiaries (in the period July - August 2016) and Clămparu was the leader of that riot. It all led to
legislative
modifications favourable to the ones who serve their sentence (modifications made to the Law on the
compensating appeal).
In January 2018, I received the case of the famous Florin Morariu, the London hero from the terrorist
attack, the one who filed a lawsuit against the British state. The local press, the national one and the
international one (by the agencies France Presse and Mediafax), as well as the local radios presented
information about this lawsuit of European interest, triggered because of the antiterrorist legislation in
Europe. In July 2018, the act of bravery shown by my client Florin Morariu was once again recognized by the
British officials, the Queen of Great Britain, Elisabeth II, accepted to award to the London hero ”The
Queen’s Commendation for Bravery”, a decoration with an undeniable value. This is how Florin Morariu was the
only Romanian to receive such a high distinction.
The case of Florin Morariu will remain in the history of the British law. Following his heroic gesture, the
Intelligence and Security Comittee of the Parliament of the United Kingdom made legislative proposals to
protect the victims of the terrorist attacks and to
increase the compensation level.
London Police awarded to Florin Morariu the highest distinction for courage, whereas the local authorities
of Iasi offered him the honour citizenship in Iasi.
The entire international press acclaimed the merits of the hero Florin Morariu, by taking the view point of
the sollicitor whereas a radio presenter even named me “the hero of the hero”: BBC (United Kingdom), Mirror
(United Kingdom), Huffpost (Quebec), The Sun (United Kingdom), Le petit journal.com (France), MailOnline
(United Kingdom), Metro (United Kingdom), Le Progrès (France), RTL Info (France), The Telegraph (United
Kingdom), Balkaninsight (Romania), Independent (United Kingdom).
In the years 2018-2019 I was the sollicitor of Andrei Năstase, a politician with European reputation, the
leader of the platform Dignity and Truth, the most powerful opposition party in the Republic of Moldova. The
lawsuits were against the president Igor
Dodon, who tried to annihilate the ascension of Andrei Năstase, by publications that ran a defamation
campaign against the one who is a convinced pro-European and unionist. Andrei Năstase addressed his thanks
to my law firm on all the TV channels in the Republic of Moldova.
After the lawsuits against Igor Dodon were won, the political regime in the Republic of Moldova was changed
whereas the politician Andrei Năstase was appointed the minister of internal affairs and the vice
prime-minister of Republic of Moldova.
My law firm has two offices in Iași city and an office in Poiana-Teiului locality, Neamț county.
I continue to dedicate my time to my profession as a sollicitor, to my clients and to the collaborators that
I have, I always try to be more than their specialty counsellor but also their confident, a responsible and
loyal person.
